A picture dump....

I have been busy... Once I realized how close December was I forced myself into getting back into sewing mode..

I have finished all the last name quilted wall hanging thingys And really am liking the name I came up with for them ;)

Made a quilt for a friends new baby boy..

A dress for a friends daughters 2nd birthday...

A quilt for my cousins new baby girl.. This one was a joint effort with my sister, who wanted to learn to sew.

And a dress for the new baby as well...

I was unsure on what color to make the sashing on this quilt.. I finally settled.. Now, I just need to buy more fabric.. oh and actually cut the fabric and get started??

Christmas laziness...

I have been in a total sewing funk, which isn't a good thing at all considering Christmas is quickly approaching and I have SO much sewing to get done. *faint*

In an attempt to get some sewing mojo back I have been cutting out projects, I started on the felt playhouse that I am making for T.
Idea's for the felt playhouse taken from: homemade by Jill, Miss Pretty Pretty Etsy shop.

While browsing on Etsy I found this wicked awesome fabric which is perfect for SIL's Christmas gift... She rides horses. So I bought it... well actually DH did, courtesy of his Paypal account ;)

And for the family, Last name quilted wall hanging thingys? I just got all the letters sewn on but the plan is to quilt them and they can hang them in their entrance ways or porches or wherever they want.. I hope they like them. If I have time I will make some for Ev's side of the family.

A cute little octopus...

Pattern by Jessica at Happy Together.. Found here on Etsy

Tanika insisted on having the pattern side up.

A change of heart.

I picked up the fabric today to finish the Ugly Flowers quilt, I had just picked out a natural colored linen. Not long after I got home I had the brilliant idea to use gray instead, it would make the colors pop and hopefully really give the quilt the look I am going for.

So, back to town I go tomorrow to get more fabric.. If only I would have had that genius idea in the store!

Quick and easy doll quilt...

T needed a new doll quilt, We bought her a new doll bed to keep at my salon. (she comes to work with me now) So naturally I needed to make her dolls their own blanket.

Circa 1983 Cabbage Patch Kids pillow case used for the front

I have this sheet as well, I want to use it as the back for some baby quilts, It is twin size so it should get a lot of use.

It's my blog I will post multiple posts in a row if I want to...

I have never had so many unfinished projects going at one time. Usually I like to finish one before I start another, just because it annoys me having unfinished things.

But Christmas is coming and I don't have a lot of time to spare and a lot of gifts to make. I start things that I can work on at the moment but might be missing some supplies for and then put them to the side and start something else until I get what I need..

The doll quilt still sits because I need to pick up the free motion foot in the city..

Why do projects look better in my mind? This quilt doesn't look anything like I wanted it to, I can only hope that once it is quilted it will somehow change it's appearance and actually look like a vintage sheet quilt and I will like it. I love the vintage sheets look but it never looks the same as I thought it would.

Then there is this started quilt, Ugly Flowers I am going to call it. *lol* I find that blue flower fabric pretty hideous, but was hoping when paired with other fabrics and put in a quilt it might not be too bad, I am going to do some form of a Chinese Coin quilt with a light beige linen to contrast the bright colors that are in the squares. My sister, J loves the color orange and somehow the blue fabric reminded me of her...(is that bad?) So she will get the quilt. I still have hope that once it is all together it will look pretty decent.

Tonight I took some quilting time off and finished another outfit for T, her fall and winter wardrobe still needs expanding and with all this quilting business I haven't been able to get any clothing sewing done.

Then I tried out reverse applique on a bought shirt.. It was easy peasy but the flower turned out to be more like a star...
